The tinkerers who live up the attic ladder
Tinkertoyloft started with a single falling-block game and a box of toy drawings. We kept stamping new toys onto the blocks until the well looked like a toybox being tidied away, and the idea of a whole workshop of games grew from there, one wind-up toy at a time.
Today there are six games, each written in plain code by our own hands and drawn in the same warm, painted style. Bobbin the inventor mouse turned up early with her goggles and wrench and never left, so now she guides visitors around the bench, keeps an eye on the scores and supervises every new puzzle we build.
We work in Britain and design for the way people actually play: five minutes on a bus, an hour after supper, a whole snowed-in afternoon with a child on the sofa. Every game loads instantly, adapts from a phone to a large monitor and saves your progress quietly on your own device.
Above everything we care about fairness and calm. Points and stars come from skill, difficulty rises gently, and nothing nags you between rounds. If you climb back down the ladder feeling a little lighter than when you came up, we have done our job.
Skill turns every key
Scores, stars and personal bests come from what you do. Chance only ever arranges a layout, such as the next falling shape or the scatter of jigsaw pieces.
Hushed as falling snow
Soft sounds you can switch off, gentle difficulty and clean pages mean each game feels like a peaceful hobby rather than a demand on your attention.
